Tough Love by Lori Foster - next book in the Ultimate series

Blurb:

She's playing hard to get… to win the MMA fighter of her ultimate fantasies in a sultry new novel from New York Timesbestselling author Lori Foster…

Vanity Baker loves a good, clean match, but she's not above playing a little dirty. She's wanted Stack "The Wolf" Hannigan from day one. Seems as though the best way to corral the famously commitment-phobic fighter is to insist on keeping it casual. And her plan works—deliciously well—until Stack's past steps out of the shadows.

Stack learned early to stay free of attachments. But with sexy, forthright Vanity, he's the one always left wanting more. Then his troublemaking family comes back into the picture, threatening everything Stack cares about—Vanity included. Suddenly he realizes they're much more than friends with benefits. He's ready to go to the mat for her…but will it be in time to protect the woman who's tamed him for good?

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book! And let's just say, I couldn't have been happier. I already read the first two books in the series, and loved those as well. As for this book, including Vanity and Stack, I COULDN'T wait to get my hands on their story.

While they are in no way main characters in the first stories, you do get glimpses of all of the other fighters, Stack included, in the first books. And there was just something about him that drew me in. So with an ending like the one from the one last book, I simply couldn't wait until this beauty showed up.

Stack and Vanity are both headstrong people, that don't tend to fall in love. At least not at first. Vanity quickly realizes it's a fruitless endeavour, since she was already head over heels, while Stack himself pushes against putting a label on whatever is going on with them. And something definitely is going on.

As their relationship slowly unfolds, you quickly see that neither one of them wants to move from their position. Vanity wants to show Stack just how amazing they could be together, while Stack himself tries everything to keep her at an arm's length. And yet that woman doesn't let go and before he knows it, she's knee-deep in his own family drama. And it still doesn't make her run for the hills.

I loved seeing the two interact, simple because their sizzling chemistry was palpable through my kindle. I just...there was just something there that needed to be taken care of. By both of them. And when Stack is thrown under the bus by his own family apparently, things slowly start to make him realize that there is only so much energy he has to keep Vanity away.

I also loved getting glimpses of Stack's family. They are chaotic, weird, but that just made me love him more. And the dogs. I just love dogs.

Another point I love about Lori Foster's books is that she always lets us see the other fighters as well. They don't play a big role, but they are there, and I LOVE everything I see about them. And the more I see of them, the more I wanna read the next story.

As for this book: Lori Foster managed to keep me attached to my seat again, desperately wanting to know what the ending would look like. I got lost in the story and its characters, and loved every second of it.

5 book boyfriends!!!!!!

Always yours, Yvi
